Atascocita, Texas (KTRK) – [هرس]Outside Duty Territory[بكت]. Vice 3 was shot dead while returning home from dinner for his family, officials said.
The shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at 11900 Block in Madera Run Parkway near Timber Forest in Atascocita.
Investigators said the deputy had just eaten dinner for his family and was driving along Madeira Run when the shots were fired.
Harris County PT. 3 Constable Sherman Eagleton identified the MP who was murdered as the 37-year-old Omar Orsen.
Officials said a black or dark four-door sedan with tinted windows stopped next to the deputy and fired shots at the driver’s side of his car.
“The cause of the shooting at this point is unknown,” Sgt. Dennis Wolford said. “We don’t know if it has anything to do with road rage. We don’t know if it has anything to do with him being law enforcement. We are still trying to determine that.”
Deputies said that after the shooting, Orsen crashed into a tree in the middle. He was taken to the district hospital, where he later died.
Investigators said the suspect’s car turned north on Olympic National Drive. It has not been located.
